VIDEO: Edgar the Exploiter

Here is the sequel to the video I posted yesterday.

Every member of the Occupy Wall Street “movement” should watch this video and learn a little something about economics and the free market, which they despise. Same goes for all you liberals out there. This is how the real world works. Your good intentions are putting good people out of work.

Tom, as a millionaire you have absolutely no idea of what it’s like to try to live on minimum wages or less. You made your fortune by being a person who gets paid to be opinionated. Tell me where to apply. I have strong opinions, too. I would love to make the money you are making. Why don’t you try to live on minimum wages or less for a month and then give your opinion of how low wage earners are ruining our economy. You wouldn’t last one day!

@Deanna Did you watch the video? It explains how minimum wage laws hurt the most vulnerable workers. If you’re interested in helping the poor, it’s important to understand this dynamic.

Deanna, that’s some mighty big assumptions you’ve made there. If my husband is a millionaire, he sure is hiding it very well from me. How in the world would you have any idea if he has ever lived on minimum wage? He hasnt always been a journalist. Since you are so envious of his career, you are welcome to go to college and get the education then spend many years working your way to where you want to be, there are plenty of grants and other assistance programs out there for low income people who actually have a true desire to WORK for a better life, take advantage of it.

In 1978 the average CEO made roughly 75 times the salary of a minimum wage worker. In 2011, the average CEO made over 800 times the salary of a minimum wage worker. An average CEO earns more before lunchtime on the very first day of work in the year than a minimum wage worker earns all year.

By the logic in this animation, shouldn’t companies move to a country like Germany where CEO pay is much lower?

*** Also, minimum wage is not $9.00 – it’s $7.25. If the people who made this video had their way it would still be $5.15. Or maybe as in Guatemala just .99!
